Over the past thirty plus years of bow hunting, I have pursued whitetail in every conceivable condition and situation imaginable. From sitting on a bucket to hanging from a tree to lying in a hole or in a ground blind, whatever it takes to get close to the elusive whitetail. Recently I have discovered an extremely deadly method. With all the pressure on whitetails in the woods, I have taken to the new comfortable approach allowing me to stay in position longer. There is a new product out by Shadow Hunter called the Elevator Bracket designed to elevate you and your blind to any height that fits your situation from woods, corn fields, prairie grass or swamps. You can build a very safe platform large enough to sit safely inside your blind giving you a visual advantage. These brackets can be used with the portable pop-ups or more permanent structures can be built on them. After spending thousands of hours hanging on the side of a tree, it sure has been great to sit in comfort in a safe elevated platform where you are protected from the elements while still having the advantage of elevation. And I have yet to meet a whitetail that can see through a 1/2 inch sheet of plywood or blind. And if it is placed with the wind in your favor they are very deadly. Gun hunters have used box blinds for some time now and maybe us old bow hunters should have been paying more attention to our smoke pole buddies.
